About This Site

This is a personal blog built with Hexo, dressed in Whimsy — a custom lightweight theme designed for comfortable reading: clean typography, soft pastel accents, and a dark mode.

Every post is published in both English and Chinese, because I write for readers in both ecosystems and the two versions usually grow out of the same set of notes.

Tech Stack

  • Hexo — Static site generator
  • Whimsy — Custom theme with light/dark modes
  • Bilingual — English and Chinese editions of every post

What This Blog Covers

  • AI tooling — how I build and ship small AI products, from architecture choices to interface design.
  • Local LLM experiments — running quantized models on consumer GPUs, wiring them into local clients, and benchmarking what actually fits in 16GB of VRAM.
  • Indie dev build logs — the decisions, dead ends, and token bills behind one-person products, written while the work is still fresh.
  • Project updates — release notes for NZ Pathway, GPU Fits, ziline, Wonder Planet, and Wenya, from first sketch to live site.

About the Author

I’m Lei Wang, a developer who builds AI tools and side projects. I like pixel art and retro games, and I spend most of my time tinkering with local models, static sites, and anything that turns an idea into something other people can actually use. I’m also a bilingual writer: every essay here appears in English and Chinese, and translating my own work keeps me honest about what I actually mean.

Projects

I build small, focused tools that solve problems I run into myself — an immigration toolkit, a GPU compatibility checker, an AI reading companion, and a planet-building app for kids. There’s a full list with links on the projects page.
